Join the samba band!
The group is ever growing and always welcomes new members. We practice in The New Picket, New Bird St (off Jason St) in the heart of the Independent District in Liverpool every Monday night from 8pm. You don't need to bring your own drum or to have had any previous experience - all we ask is that you are enthusiastic and willing to learn - we believe very strongly in inclusion. Subs are only £3 per session and go towards purchasing new equipment. For further information, come along to a practice and introduce yourself. You may also contact Maeve or Lizinha.
Carnival 2008 is Liverpool's most exciting event for Capital of Culture - and YOU can get involved!

Carnival for Liverpool Euro Capital of Culture 2008
Liverpool Samba School is hosting an event for the people of Liverpool - a Brasilian Samba Carnival for this, Liverpool's Capital of Culture year.
The Rio-style carnival promises to be an truly exciting evening event, with irresistible rhythms, extravagant costumes and floats. In true Brasilian Samba style there is guaranteed to be plenty of glitz and glamour - but also as in Rio EVERYONE is invited to join in the fun! We need people to help us make this the most spectacular event of 2008 - Whatever your skills experience or interests , age or ability, we are sure to have something fun for you to be involved with.
We need helpers to help with costumes, floats, technical and logistics, and for performers on the day we need more dancers, costumed paraders, drummers, stewards, and more. Email Roger Morris, call Roger or Maeve on 0151 734 1110 or come to a percussion practice
